Retracting[edit]
This enhancement allows the weapon to shrink in length, reducing it reach. This enhancement is usually placed on a reach weapon, such as a Longspear or a Whip. As a free action, the wielder may alter her weapon and shorten or remove its reach, gaining the ability to threaten adjacent targets. The weapon may be returned to its normal reach as a free action or if it leaves the hands of its wielder.
Finally a retracting weapon can be reduced to a hilt as a move action, reducing its size to 1 foot and its weight to 1 lbs (for a medium weapon). This makes it ideal for storage. The weapon cannot be used to fight in this state, but it may be returned to its weapon form as a move action or with the same action as drawing it.
This is a prestige enhancement. Equipment may have only a single prestige enhancement.
