Robes of the necromancer appear to be aged and tattered at the edges on what would otherwise be a regal robe of dark purple, silver, and black hue and adorned with small onyx crystals around the neck. Those wearing the robes of the necromancer may cast animate dead 1/day with a caster level equal to the user's HD. The spell does not require any material components. In addition it grants a +1 CL bonus to necromancy spells.
