Scarletite[edit]
Long considered a legendary material, scarletite, is also known as "hihi'irokane" or "brilliant scarlet steel". Scarletite is a red material which radiate a bright light, reminiscent of the sun. Scarletite is incredibly resilient, light and corrosion-proof, making it an ideal material for making armaments. It is however incredibly rare and expensive to work with. It is noted that scarletite is an incredible conductor for heat, to the point that arms made from it are warm to the touch. Scarletite is immune to corrosion, such as from rust monster or the rusting grasp spell. Scarletite is so costly that weapons and armor made from it are always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below. All items made of scarletite weight half as much as normal.
A weapon made of scarletite has its critical threat increase by 1, which stacks with effect which alters a weapon critical threat but is always added after. A weapon made of scarletite can also bypass hardness of 18 or less. A weapon made of scarletite with the Flaming enhancement increases the fire damage dealt by +1d6.
If made into armor or shield, scarletite acts as mithral. Additionally the armor or shield increases their armor or shield bonus by 1. A magical scarletite armor or shield may receive the Flameguard at the cost of a +1 enhancement rather than +2.
Scarletite has 40 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 18.
