1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
A Schlachtschwert, which litterally means battle-sword, is a very big, sturd and strong two-handed sword: its basic function is to lead powerful assaults against the enemy rannks and thrash them out; typically, only the strongest, tallest and bravest soldiers can proficiently use such a beast of a weapon! A Schlachtschwert is around 20 inches longer than a greatsword, and is too large for a Medium-size creature to use with two hands without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon: medium-size creatures proficient with martial weapons can use a Schlachtschwert with a -2 penalty to attack rolls and can use it with one hand with a -10 penalty to attack rolls.
A Large-size creature could use the Schlachtschwert with one hand, but would be assessed the standard -4 non-proficiency penalty to its attack rolls, or with two hands as a martial weapon. A Large-size creature with the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat could use the Schlachtschwert in one hand, but a Medium-size creature must use both hands even with the feat.
A Schlachtschwert is actually a slightly longer and somehow slender version of the Fullblade/Zweihaender: a Schlachtschwert has reach, but it's not as long as other pole weapons, so you can also strike opponents 10 feet away with an additional penalty of -2 to attack rolls.
Characters proficient with the Schlachtschwert may treat it as a Fullblade (as well as other weapons with 2d8 19/20x2 statistics, basically) for the purpose of any of the following feats: Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization.
