You duplicate yourself with a shadowy copy that appears adjacent to you, allowing to act remotely. This shadow copy is capable of all actions you are capable of performing. However, if you take actions the copy can only take a single move action and vice versa. Thus only one of you can attack or take more actions at any one time. If items or consumables are used, then they are consumed for both the original and the copy. The copy has 1/2 your hp, and if destroyed it deals 2d10 backlash damage to the invoker and cannot be recreated for 1 hour.
The shadow copy uses your senses to see, and must be kept within line of sight in order to act without being blind.
When you gain Greater Invocations, you now can see through your copy allowing your to perform actions at any range (so long as you are on the same plane).
When you gain Dark Invocations, you can instead set your shadow puppet to "remote control". It inhabits an arcane symbol you inscribe upon the wall (treat it as a symbol spell). You can have it activate or trigger upon any contingency you wish that happens within 100 ft at which point the shadow puppet appears with simple instructions such as "defend this area" or "warn creatures about the pit", as if it were a construct. A remote shadow puppet can take its own actions freely without interrupting your own. It lasts for 1 hour or until destroyed. You are aware of your shadow puppet when it is triggered.
Regardless of the form used, only one shadow puppet may exist at a time. Previous versions, including untriggered contingent shadow puppets, are dismissed upon invoking a new one.
