A bone helm shaped like your own skull, when creatures perish around you or the item is activated, its eyes burn with a cryptic pale green flame.
This helmet is tied to the forces of death and when the wearer kills a creature within 60 ft by their actions, they absorb their dying essence for their benefit. They heal a number of points equal to the HD of the dying creature or creatures, up to a maximum of 20 hp a round. This is a continuous benefit that requires no activation.
They can also call up the spirits of the recently dead, allowing them one last chance at life. As a move action they can target a creature who has perished within the last 10 minutes. The creature need not be intact but must have a part of their body which can be targeted. The creature appears in spectral form within 60 ft of their body, and may perform 1 standard action and/or speak one short message as if they were still alive. After they perform their action their spirit returns to rest and cannot be recalled again until they are brought back to life and slain once more.
Those wearing this helmet who die may take 1 standard action within 1 minute of their death as if they had summoned themselves. However, using this ability renders the helmet inert for 1 week, and the helmet cannot be removed from the user until a week has passed preventing the use of any other magical headgear.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, animate dead, vampiric touch.
Cost to Create: 10,000 gp, 800 EXP, 20 days.
