You can see your house from up here!
The caster projects a small sensory probe not unlike a prying eye up to 20 ft/level above their head, and they are capable of seeing from that vantage point in space as if they were standing there with their own senses. This does not distract from their normal senses. The probe is a physical object (often stylized as a clearly magical bird for druids and rangers) and can be targeted and destroyed. The sensor is a Fine construct with 1 hp, AC 18 (+8 size), but only a +8 Hide modifier due to the fact it glows as bright as a candle.
It follows your movements, and automatically lowers in altitude to avoid obstacles, but is destroyed if it cannot lower altitude (minimum altitude 5 ft above you). You can adjust its altitude as a move action.
If you can see something through your sky eye you are considered to have line of sight to it, but not line of effect. If you are able to arc your projectiles, you may be able to strike them without the 50% miss chance for total concealment.
Focus: A ring or amulet designed with a crystal eye worth 50 gp.
