This spell grants life to non-living creatures for a limited time. Affected objects become like intelligent weapons, technically constructs, with no actual HD but an effective HD equal to your caster level for the purpose of spells which affect based on your HD. It has no feats, skills, or physical ability scores but gains mental ability scores of 10+1d12, arranged among its [[intelligence]], [[wisdom]], and [[charisma]] as you see fit. It has normal hearing and vision out to 120 ft., darkvision 60ft., has your alignment, and may talk in any language the caster knows. They have the same hp and hardness as the component item and the spell ends if the object is destroyed. In addition it gains three lesser powers or one greater power from the [[SRD:Intelligent Items|intelligent item]] list of powers.
Alternatively you can use an extended ritual form of this power, forever converting a normal item into an intelligent one. This form of the spell takes 8 hours and you spend gp and xp equal to as if you were crafting the enhancement with an item creation feat. The item must qualify to be an intelligent item (a magic item which does not run out of non-replenishable charges). You only need pay the cost of the enhancements itself as you already have a magic item you are working on. The cost is half the market price in gp and 1/25th the market price in xp. This takes 8 hours to complete.
It is friendly to its creator and accepts its limited lifespan. Typically they are used to awaken weapons to act as an extra pair of eyes while scouting, or items in the room for the purpose of spying. They do not persist long enough to develop any particular personality quirks of their own.
