Making a meal takes one hour, requires a Profession (Chef) check with a DC equal to 10 + 2 &times; the creature's CR, and can produce 1 of the following effects. ''Tome of Prowess Variant:'' Instead of a Profession (Chef) check, make a Survival check with a DC equal to 10 + the creature's CR.
''{{Anchor|You Are What You Eat}}:'' At level 1, the Monster Gourmet's meals can transform anyone who eats it into the creature, much like ''[[Polymorph Other (3.5e Spell)|polymorph other]]'', without the CR restriction (except that the creature may be exceptional for its type, if it was). This lasts for 8 hours. Eating one of these meals takes 30 minutes.
