Staff Duelist
The staff duelist is an expert of using pole-like weapons to poke at his foe, strikes them with great strength and easily parries their attack aside.
Class: Duelist
Level: 1st, 2nd, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th
Replaces: Parry, Insightful Strike, Improved Parry, Against the Wall, Expert Flanker
Benefit: A Staff Duelist gains proficiency with all staff-like weapons, including exotic staves. A staff duelist also gains the following class features:
Staff Parry (Ex): A Staff Duelist can parry his opponents attack and immediately strike back at them. He gains a swashbucklerPathfinder’s opportune parry and riposte deed except he does not need panache. He must be using a staff or staff-like weapon in order to parry an attack this way. After a staff duelist parries an attack, any other attacks made until the end of his turn take a -4 penalty. At 7th, 11th, and 15th levels, the penalty decreases by 1. At 19th level, a staff duelist can use staff parry without penalty.
Concussive Strike (Ex): Whenever a staff duelist of 3rd level or higher makes an attack with a staff or staff-like weapon, she adds her class level to damage. If she uses two-weapon fighting she instead adds half her class level to each attack instead.
Circle Strike (Ex): A 5th level staff duelist gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls against creatures currently flanking her. This bonus increases by +1 at 10th level and each levels thereafter.
Grappling Staff (Ex): At 5th level, a staff duelist gains Improved Grapple as a bonus feat, but only when she uses her staff in two hands. She may attack with her two-handed staff in melee as if it was a light weapon.
Maneuver Parry (Ex): A 10th level staff duelist can use a martial strike instead of an normal attack on her Staff Parry.
