Sublime Thief
A sublime thief is a practiced expert of her craft, with an exceptional understanding of martial ways of combat. They are rarely thugs who don't think, and are instead often refined gentlemen or ladies who truly know their way around a blade. Many sublime thieves are also Phantom Thieves, who gain additional benefits from this archetype.
Class: Rogue or Unchained Rogue
Level: 1st-19th
Replaces: Sneak Attack Progression, Rogue Talents (2nd, 6th), Debilitating Injury (Unchained only)
Benefit: A sublime thief gains the following class features:
Code of Conduct: A sublime thief as a code of conduct, usually in dealing with how she handles her thievery. The code can be focused on personal honor, redistribution of stolen goods or other subjects. If the sublime thief violates her code of conduct, she reduces her number of maneuvers readied by 1. This can be cumulative to a minimum of 1 maneuver readied. The sublime thief can regain her honor by immediately remedying her breach. Alternatively she regains her full maneuver readied after a week without breaching her code of conduct.
Maneuvers: A sublime thief is able to initiate maneuvers, having the same maneuver known, maneuver readied and stance known as a warblade. She chooses her maneuvers from the diamond mind, shadow hand disciples as well as two disciplines chosen when she first gains levels in sublime thief. A sublime thief recovers all of her maneuver as a standard action.
This ability replaces the sublime thief's normal sneak attack progression. Instead she gains a sneak attack dice at 3rd level and each 3rd level thereafter. For a phantom thief rogue this replaces the instance of refined education she gains at 1st, 9th and 15th level.
Art of Thievery (Ex): At 2nd level a sublime thief gains Improved Steal as a bonus feat even if she does not meet the prerequisites, she may use her class level instead of her base attack bonus to determine her CMB when making a steal check. At 6th level she gains Greater Steal and Quick Steal as a bonus feats even if she does not meet their prerequisites.
This ability replaces the rogue talent gained at 2nd level and 6th level.
Expert Trapfinder (Ex): A phantom thief with this archetype regains the trapfinding class feature. Additionally she gains the Trap Spotter as a bonus rogue talent.
Lethal Precision (Ex): Whenever a 5th level sublime thief initiates a strike, the first attack in her strike deals additional damage equal to her Intelligence bonus. This additional damage is precision damage and is not multiplied on a successful critical hit.
This ability replaces the debilitating injury, a phantom thief gains this ability without losing anything. This ability is only available to the unchained rogue.
Path of War Changes: If using Path of War the following changes are suggested:
- The sublime thief use maneuver known, maneuver readied, stance known and max maneuver level as the Table: Archetype Maneuver Progression.
- The sublime thief's initiation modifier is Intelligence.
- The sublime thief has access to Leaden Hyena, Mithral Current, Scarlet Throne, Steel Serpent and one additional of her choice.
- A sublime thief may recover her maneuvers as a full-round action, When she does, she replaces a number of expended maneuvers equal to her sublime thief initiation modifier (minimum 2) with new readied sublime thief maneuvers she knows. If she wishes, she may replace these maneuvers with themselves, effectively recovering them. Alternately, the sublime thief may take a brief moment to collect his thoughts to recover a single maneuver as a standard action, or as an immediate action after succeeding at a steal check.
