Talk:Doppledasein Union (3.5e Feat)
What happens to the gear?[edit]
So Doppledasein each have their own individual gear, a set for each twin. So just a bit confused here on if the gear drops to the ground or is absorbed into the joined body, only one set showing, like with some forms of shapeshifting, when the gear doesn't fit the new body it gets absorbed and when you go back to the original form it reappears. So if it was absorbed than the twin would come out having it's gear again instead of one naked and the other not.
Also a side question kinda, as its mostly cosmetic and not really important. Say one Doppledasein twin has a different feature like a scar or even going with how they both have mirrored heterochromia, does only one twin's features show, or do both merge entirely showing mixed features of both, should their be differences. Just asking because I find it interesting.
Either way its an awesome idea and I find it to be a neat feat. Grand Showmanship (talk) 00:16, 9 January 2018 (MST)
- That a very good question, I will be working at figuring out an answer soon. --Leziad (talk) 14:23, 9 January 2018 (MST)
- Thanks for taking the time to reply, and glad you found it too be a good question. Again its a great feat that adds something to an interesting race. Probably give it a rating after any changes you add from this question. Grand Showmanship (talk) 22:19, 9 January 2018 (MST)
Follow up Questions[edit]
Took me a while to get back to this but I love the new addition, however I'd meant to ask another question, yet at the time it had slipped my mind. You say the new unified doppledasein counts as having constant schism. My question is what happens when a charm or compulsion effect hits. Normal schism grants a second save, I'd guess this one would as well, however while I could see the second save failing would you remain schismed but with both under the charm/compulsion or separate with both parts affected?
Alternatively lets say you fail the first save but pass the second. I would guess you'd be forced to split apart but would one be controlled while the other was not? I think it would be quite interesting with one twin charmed and the other not charmed, but just thought I'd ask.
I also was wondering if maybe you would consider a second feat/maybe adding more to this feat. I think it could be quite a nice addition if, as an immediate action, you could end this union to gain back the effects of twinned and the other normal abilities, such as to possibly counter being hit with a soul trapping effect or something, however probably at the cost of getting dazed or confused for the following round. Any thoughts? Grand Showmanship (talk) 21:20, 26 January 2018 (MST)
