That's hilarious! I like that! The roll reversal itself is funny enough, but then on top of that the extra power it gives to the DM to control the plot at any given time is actually really great because he can use that to make things just the right amount of suspenseful and control the tempo (Providing he's a good DM of course). The only down sides on this are completely on the player, and I know lots of players who would use this just for the humor.
