Talk:Frag Grenade (3.5e Equipment)

That Range[edit]
The penalty for throwing at the full distance (200') is only -8, so someone with a +12 attack bonus (level 7, approximately) can be tossing grenades quite far. Farther than people can really throw them, I think. I kind of doubt that metal shells filled with powder are easier to throw than well-balanced light axes or knives.
The damage values are pretty good too, but not better than someone who loves scrolls can buy for a somewhat similar price. --Foxwarrior (talk) 17:17, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- Think it's too far? I've always seen throwing ranges as being absurdly short. For the grenade, you'd want at minimum 15 feet, just to be safe from your own blast. I figure 20-30 was my sweet spot and I went high.
- The scroll comparison is intentional. Glad you spotted it. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 17:24, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- You don't have to be able to throw the grenade past the sweet spot without taking any range increment penalties.
- And I think that uncapped damage spells are sabotaging your scroll comparison a bit. --Foxwarrior (talk) 17:26, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
