Talk:Infinity and Beyond (3.5e Feat)
Judgement Day[edit]
Dear Diary. I am writing this as a record for anyone who, somehow, might come and see this. I will likely be long dead by then. Let me explain how this world went from a lush and peaceful land to a barren lifeless world...
I did not witness it myself but I have good word from those who did how the apocalypse occured. A month ago, a psion developed this brand new metapower which spread his psychic abilities from that of a mortal to that which would make overdieties blush. I didn't think it was possibly to pull the area of a spell literally to infinity, but somehow at a mere 13th's grade psionic researcher, he had done it.
The first Swarm of Crystals killed millions. Commoners, experts, livestock, pets, men, women, children, crops... all torn to shreads in an instance. Those who survived the first did not survive the second... the third. There was no escaping it, no where to hide as blades manifested out of thin air and slashed apart everything in existance. Only those, like me, with unusually durable skin who resist physical blows survived. No one knew where he was hiding, but instantly he crippled nations, destroyed the ecosystems, and performed the largest act of mass murder in history.
He must have gotten stronger from it. The next day after a short 8 hour reprive, then came the energy balls to finish off the things that survived the bladed death. Blast after blast, fire, lightning, sonic and cold.... if any plants survived the first, they did not survive the second. The sun is gone, the smoke of an entire planet's forests burning has blocked out the sun and plunged us into a dark ice age from which there is no escape. But there never was any. Since all the livestock and most of the worlds animals and plants have already died, we soon starved. Cannibalism was rampent, with the winner able to see what psionic power would kill them the next day.
What madman god would allow such a dangerous, powerful ability to be employed by anything short of a diety, much less by a mere 13th grade psionicist? He is likely the only man who will live, with the foresight to defend against what he will manifest next. I hope he rots for his crimes...
(PS: Feat's borked as all hell.)-- Eiji-kun 07:19, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
- Better. Well, more workable anyway, I still object to it but at least it's a "this shit's an epic feat son" and not "lol Pun-Pun" level now. Now it's Locate City Bomb cheese instead of universal extinction. -- Eiji-kun 22:48, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
- While this feat isn't one I would likely use(I'd prefer it to be epic or near epic myself), I would think that the time spent manifesting such a power would be increased to at least 8 hours, if not a full 24. I mean, don't want to steal the thunder of a WoTC spell made solely for killing nations, right? Though this feat is a fun idea, the ability to cast ten of these powers in a few minutes is kinda scary.
- Plus even if gaining a level cost several million XP, a smart user of this feat could gain many levels in seconds, simply by using it in the right direction, from a good spot.
- Thus, my suggestions for this feat are to make manifesting a power with it take longer, and prevent you from gaining XP from using it. Either that or make it a epic level feat.--YX33A 06:02, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'll take your first suggestions gladly, because they are good, and because this feat is obviously too weak to be an epic feat. --Foxwarrior 20:03, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
