At Will[edit]

The abrupt jaunt caster, strong as he is, is feeling rather underpowered now. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:23, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Potential compromise: Spend a spell slot to teleport 10 feet per level of spell cast (that is, a 9th level spell would make you teleport 90 feet) while maintaining the immediate action cost. - TG Cid (talk) 15:33, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Bumpadoo! -- Eiji-kun (talk) 02:44, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
Bump you may, but no one ever said what they thought about my compromise.. :( - TG Cid (talk) 17:40, 16 June 2017 (MDT)
Bump for above proposal to spend spell slots for 10 feet per spell level teleportation. - TG Cid (talk) 07:46, 19 May 2018 (MDT)
How about instead making it 10 feet per highest level spell slot available, with a 1 round cool down. That way you aren't spending high level spells for a relatively minor effect. Elohim (talk) 08:23, 19 May 2018 (MDT)
I feel as though that further exacerbates the problem above, which is that it renders abrupt jaunt mage obsolete. - TG Cid (talk) 20:05, 25 May 2018 (MDT)

(RESET INDENT) Wow how did I miss all this.

Right, the compromise.... eeeehhhh, 1st level slots are not exactly rare, or useful, as you raise in level. I would gladly trade all of my 1st and 2nd level slots for abrupt jaunt for days.

As a standard action or move action this is just mobility. As an immediate though, it is a defense. There has to be something that prevents you from using this defense at all times, either through severe restrictions on uses per day, or some kind of side effect. Summoning sickness? You'd be a bit more wary to use it if you were nauseated the round after or something, making this something to use in an emergency.

Sorry it took so long to reply. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 21:47, 3 June 2018 (MDT)
