Talk:Silk Plate (3.5e Equipment)

About the same optimal armor rating as most exotic armor, nightscale has optimal AC of 12 and pathfinder full-plate has an optimal AC of 10 (aka just one less than this exotic armor). Also cut it, smiley are obnoxious. --Leziad (talk) 17:58, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Nightscale armor requires a HUGE investment in Dexterity that doesn't come online until very high levels. I can't agree with this being better in almost every way than the best-in-class armor. If this is available, it basically negates both the breastplate and full plate for best-in-class which is a no-no in my book.
And I like smileys... they express my intent and emotions in a way that mere flavor doesn't :-P --Ghostwheel (talk) 18:08, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
To me smiley are just patronizing, anyway whatever. A +5 still require a 20 in Dexterity and this require Exotic Armor proficiency as well as a moderately high investment in dexterity. I could be convinced to add special abilities and drop the armor bonus to +5 or +4 however. --Leziad (talk) 18:16, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Ah, did not notice that it requires a feat. That takes care of any objections I had, in that case. --Ghostwheel (talk) 18:21, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
