The lenses of these goggles are covered with an ever-shifting storm of words and shapes.
Once the Tempest Goggles are donned, the wearer is blinded, and must make a DC 25 Spellcraft check each round until she succeeds or gives up and takes off the goggles.
Once she succeeds, she has adapted to the strange shifting patterns of the Tempest Goggles enough to benefit from them. She can perceive and identify any and all magic auras within 60 feet, independent of obstacles, although auras that are entirely surrounded by a thin container of some heavy metal such as lead or gold are not detected. When a creature begins casting a spell or using a spell-like ability within 60 feet, she automatically detects and identifies it, and knows how many more uses of that spell or spell-like ability the caster currently has. She continues to be blinded, although she does not get a -2 penalty to AC or lose Dexterity to AC against creatures who have magic effects on them, and they don't have total concealment from her.
When the Tempest Goggles are removed, if she succeeded in her Spellcraft check to become adapted to them, she continues to be blinded for 1d4 rounds.
Creatures who are already blind get no benefit from wearing these goggles.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, arcane sight, magic aura.
