This large trumpet is polished brass with runes on its front end. With a flourish you throw it to the ground where it transforms into a horn bearing turret which emits sonic blasts.
This item can be used functionally as a +1 heavy crossbow except it has martial proficiency, is automatically reloaded with no ammunition required, and deals sonic damage. Bards and similar music-using classes are considered proficient. It has a unique Weapon Art which duplicates the effect of burning hands as sonic damage. This is a supernatural ability, and the save DC is 10 + 1/2 HD + Charisma modifier.
As a move action you can throw it to the ground, and have it transform into a siege weapon which takes up a 10 ft x 10 ft space. As a siege weapon it can be fired as a standard action, dealing 1d6 points of sonic damage/HD in a 120 ft line as a supernatural ability, with a Reflex save for half damage (DC 10 + 1/2 HD + Charisma modifier). On a natural 1, the target is also deafened permanently. It can be rotated to point in a new direction as a move action, or returned to portable form as a move action.
The trumpet counts as a masterwork tool for Perform (wind) checks, and may be used as an instrument in its own right in either form. If used for bardic music in siege form, the range of your bardic music abilities is doubled. It can also be used to simply produce loud noise or music audible up to 1 mile away.
