Miniature owlbears are a breed of owlbear enhanced from northern owlbear stock and gifted with the laser-beam vision ability native to laser-hawks. While smaller, they're just as ferocious and made more dangerous by their fiery eye beams. A miniature owlbear is roughly the size of a small dog. When using full HP per HD, a miniature owlbear has 65 HP instead.

Miniature owlbears attack prey—any creature bigger than a mouse—on sight, always fighting to the death. They slash with claws and beak, trying to grab their prey and rip it apart.
Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, an owlbear must hit with a claw attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Ocular Laser (Su): A miniature owlbear has the ability to fire a heat ray out of its eyes as a standard action, which it may fire either as a ranged touch attack (+11) within 120 ft or as a 30 ft cone or 60 ft line. The heat ray deal 1d6 fire damage per character level. If fired as a line or cone, no attack roll is made, but it allows a Reflex save for half damage (DC 10 +1/2 Character Level + Dexterity Modifier or Highest Mental Ability Score Modifier). A miniature owlbear requires 1 round of recharge before firing again.
