Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Prodigy.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Prodigy is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, as well as light armor and light shields.

Miracle Spark: A prodigy possesses a unique spark within them, which allows them to channel any talents and fuel their uses. A Prodigy has a spark reserve equal to 3 + half her class level + her Constitution modifier or her highest mental ability score modifier (whichever is higher). A spark point can be f invested into an ability, spent or burnt. A prodigy regains a spent single spark point after resting for 10 minutes, or all of them if she gains a full night of rest. She can only regain a burnt spark point by resting for 8 hours.

Talent Shift (Su): A prodigy's greatest skill is her ability to tap into their Prodigal Spark to copy just about any abilities. As a swift action, the Prodigy may spend a number of spark points up to her class level to acquire a class feature granted to any other base class with the exception of spellcasting, manifesting, invocation and maneuvers. She also cannot acquire a familiar, animal companion or similar class features with talent shift. A prodigy also cannot gain access to [Item Creation] feat when using talent shift, such as selecting as a bonus feat. Finally she cannot acquire any class feature which alter her shape (such as wild shape) if it grant her new abilities or change her ability scores, she cannot acquire bonus feats which are not Fighter bonus feats nor can she acquire divine grace or similar abilities.

A talent shift locks away the spark point used to manifest it, considering them to be 'invested' in the ability. In order to select a class feature, she must spend a number of spark points equal to the class level required to gain the chosen class feature. In addition, any level-dependent variables are at the prodigy's spark level; equal to the number of spark points they invested in the ability.

Once a talent shift is manifested she gains full access to the chosen class feature. If the class feature has any daily uses she must burn a free spark point to use it, and may only use it a number of times per day equal to the amount a character of the chosen class would be able at the prodigy's spark level. Once she uses all of an ability's daily uses it is automatically uninvested and cannot be manifested again for the day. This limitation carries over multiple uses of Talent Shift made in the same day. The prodigy's spark point also acts like ki point (MonkPathfinder) or rage rounds (BarbarianPathfinder). If a class feature has over 5 daily uses for a character of the prodigy's spark level, spark points used to fuel it are spent instead of burnt.

A prodigy only acquires a single class feature when she uses talent shift. For example if she is to copy a fighter's bonus feat ability at 5th level, she would gain a single fighter bonus feat at an effective fighter level 5 for prerequisites, not three different bonus feat. A prodigy cannot any ability granted by talent shift class feature to meet prerequisites.

A Prodigy can end a talent shift as a free action, she is refunded half the spark points invested (rounded down) in the ability and the rest are considered spent. She may only have a single talent shift active at any time, at 3rd level and each 3 levels thereafter she can maintain an additional talent shift.

Boost Abilities (Su): A Prodigy is overly capable in many things and at least passable in others. At 2nd level, by using her unique gift she can improve herself in an area she is normally lacking. As long as a Prodigy has at least one free spark point she gains a bonus on all her ability scores equal to half her class level, this bonus can only improve her ability score to double their normal value. This bonus cannot take an ability score above 10 + half her class level.

If she burn a single spark point as a swift action, she may increase an ability score to 20 + half her class level for 1 round per class level. This use of Boost Abilities can take an ability score above double its normal value.

Spells: At 3rd level a Prodigy gains the ability to use her Shift Talent ability to cast spells, manifest power and initiate maneuvers. However instead of using spark points to fuel this ability, a Prodigy uses their own spell slots instead. Since a Prodigy's spellcasting ability score changes from moment to moment, her bonus spell slots per day are based on her Constitution instead of any mental ability scores.

When she uses Talent Shift to copy a spontaneous spellcaster, a manifester or an initiator she chooses a single spell, power, invocation or maneuver for each level she can cast. If she copies a prepared spellcaster she must prepare spells as a character of the chosen class. Her caster level is considered equal to her spark level, if her spark level is too low to cast a spell of a certain level she is unable to do so. Any power she 'casts' are fully augmented to her spark level. She regain her spent 'spell' slots

When a prodigy changes her talent shift, if she chooses not to retain her spellcasting talent if she had prepared spells they immediately become unprepared.

Secondary Class: A 4th level prodigy permanently acquired the trapping of another class, either through her miracle spark or through her own training and talents. She gains all class features as if she took a single level in another base class of her choice. She does not gain the BAB, saves, or hit dice of the chosen class. At 6th level and each even class level she gain another level in her secondary class. She counts as her prodigy class level for the purpose of determining level-dependent effect. If she take any actual class levels in her secondary they stack for the purpose of getting new class features.

If she uses her Talent Shift to gain access to class features of her secondary class, she lowers the total cost of spark points by her secondary class level. However she cannot use this ability to invest more than her class level would allow, instead only the final cost is discounted.

Immediate Recognition (Su): A 5th level prodigy is able to imitate the tricks her opponent or allies use. As an immediate action upon witnessing an action being taken, she spends a single free spark point to analyze it. She learns all of the abilitt’s capacities, quirk, DC and whatnot. This allows her even to copy the ability by using her talent shift, assuming she is able to.

Borrow Prowess (Ex): At 7th level, a prodigy is able to shift her form into an heroic version of herself. By investing an amount of spark point equal to her class level into herself as a full-round action, she gain effect of divine power. This is often accompanied by static physical changes within the limits of disguise self.

Everflowing Spark (Su): A 20th level prodigy no longer burns her spark points when she uses them to fuel daily abilities.
