Class Features[edit]
All of the following are class features of the Barbarian.
Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: Barbarians have proficiency in Light armor, all Simple weapons, and three Martial weapons of their choice.
Maneuvers Known: The Barbarian uses martial Maneuvers. His initiator level is equal to his class level. You begin with 3 Disciplines of your choice available to learn from; The class skills of those Disciplines become class skills if they weren't already. At 1st level, you learn 3 maneuvers you qualify for, from any discipline you have available.
Maneuvers Readied: At first level, you may ready all three of your known maneuvers, but as you progress in power and learn more maneuvers, you must choose which ones to ready. You gain a new maneuver readied every 2 levels after 1st, as shown on the table. You can recover one expended maneuver by spending the same action used to initiate the maneuver and attempting a Combat check (DC 10 + Maneuver's level), or spend 1 minute meditating and attempt a Concentration check (DC 10 + Initiator level) to regain all of your readied maneuvers. Each time you attempt to regain the same maneuver in the same encounter, the DC increases by 2.
Stances Known: At first level, you know any two stances from the Disciplines you have available to you. You learn an additional Stance every two levels thereafter (3rd, 5th, 7th, etc).
Rage (Ex): As a free action on your turn, you can enter a Rage. During Rage, you have a +4 bonus on Strength and Constitution, gain a +2 bonus on Will saves, and your weapon speed is reduced by 1, as if by the Speed enchantment. However, you can't cast spells, or use any Dexterity-, Intelligence- or Charisma-based skill, nor can you use the Combat Expertise feat. You may use Rage a number of rounds per day equal to twice your class level, plus your unmodified Constitution modifier; These rounds need not be consecutive. However, after ending your Rage, for a number of rounds equal to twice the number of rounds you were Raged, you are Fatigued and cannot enter Rage again. Thus if you raged for 2 rounds, you would be Fatigued and unable to Rage again for 4 rounds.
Instinctual Fighting (Ex): You possess the Improved Unarmed Fighting feat as a bonus feat. Additionally, when fighting while wearing light or no armor, not using a shield and carrying no more than a Medium load, you may add 1 point of Intuition bonus per class level as a Dodge bonus to your armor class.
Illiteracy: Barbarians are the only characters who do not automatically know how to read and write. A barbarian may spend 2 skill points to gain the ability to read and write all languages he is able to speak.
A barbarian who gains a level in any other class automatically gains literacy. Any other character who gains a barbarian level does not lose the literacy he or she already had.
Fast Movement (Ex): Beginning at 2nd level, while wearing light or no armor, not using a shield and carrying no more than a Medium load, your base speed increases by 10ft.
Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 2nd level, a Barbarian retains his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if he is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, he still loses his Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized. If a barbarian already has uncanny dodge from a different class, he automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below) instead.
