Valiant Fantassin
A valiant fantassin is a heavily armored knight who eschews the use of a mount to instead fight on-foot. These footsoldiers stand as champions amongst common soldiers, fighting in the fray alongside their men. Valiant fantassins are typically on the frontline as vanguard, and as last to leave.
Class: Cavalier
Level: 1st-20th
Replaces: Mount, Cavalier’s Charge, 8th-level Order ability, Mighty Charge, Supreme Charge
Benefit: A valiant fantassin receive the following class feature:
Heavy Infantry (Ex): A valiant fantassin gains the Endurance feat as a bonus feat. Additionally, she counts as being astride her mount for the purpose of her order’s challenge bonus, order abilities and cavalier’s class feature while on foot.
This ability replaces mount.
Armor Training (Ex): A 3rd level valiant fantassin gains the armor training class feature of a fighter of her cavalier level.
This ability replaces cavalier's charge and mighty charge.
Vanguard's Stand (Ex): Starting at 8th level, a valiant fantassin gains immunity to fear and the Diehard feat as a bonus feat. If she already had the diehard feat, she gains another feat she meets the prerequisite of instead.
This ability replaces the order's abilities gained at 8th level.
Armor Mastery (Ex): At 20th level, the valiant fantassin gains the fighter's armor mastery class feature.
This ability replaces supreme charge.
