Druid of the Material [General] Prerequisites: Druid level 1.Benefit: You may select certain elementals to accompany you as an animal companion, if you so wish. If you do choose to have an elemental as an animal companion, of course, the elemental has either a good Fortitude save (if it based on earth or water) or a good Reflex save (if it based on fire or air), instead of what is normal for an animal companion. The elemental can also have both good Fortitude and Reflex saves if it is based on some mixture of two elements. If you take this feat at level 1, you may begin play with a small air elemental, small earth elemental, small fire elemental, small ice elemental¹, small magma elemental¹, small ooze elemental¹, small smoke elemental¹ or a small water elemental, instead of the normal animal companions available to be selected. Additionally, once you are of sufficiently high level, you can select your elemental companion from one of the following lists, applying the indicated adjustment to your druid level (in parentheses) for purposes of determining the elemental's characteristics and special abilities:
