I love the flavor of this spell, but as is the explode option is too good. This already deal a CHUNK of damage at level 7, 1d8 per level uncapped is pretty up there.

Then the explode option is bonker, huge damage again and then blinded for 1 round/level? Yeah right.

Honestly I would cap this spell at 15d8 and nerf the explode version. The remain version is honestly cooler, but so much worse.

Awesome and functional. ULTIMA SWORD! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjskcapEb64

Lots of damage, spread out in time so some of it is potentially avoidable, or lots of blades to arm lots of time men for a short, short time. It's an interesting setup, and I like it for the most part.

The length of the blindness is worrisome, but the rest of the spell is good. I am the bone of my sword... yada yada... and so I pray Infinite Sword Works.

With the edit, flavorful, cool, and useful.

As a spell, it does damage, and has an effect. I'd rather see it in evocation that conjuration, but then, it does do physical damage.

Comments

Does the cylinder have a 30' radius or diameter. How long does the blindness last? - Tarkisflux Talk 16:10, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

A height might be good too. --Foxwarrior 17:27, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
Addressed those things, hopefully satisfactorily. - TG Cid (talk) 07:15, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Suggestions

I'm curious as to how absurd it would be to add an optional focus component - A dagger, made out of a special metal such as adamantine. When using such a component, the spell's blade could possess the same metalline properties; I.e., a Cold Iron dagger making dozens of Cold Iron blades rain down from the sky.

Also, I think this would be cool on the Wujen (Metal) list at 4th myself. --Zhenra-Khal (talk) 22:33, 17 September 2017 (MDT)
