so many problems with core system weapon destruction, such as being inaccessible to PCs without destroying their treasure and being unusable in certain cases without wrecking thematic equipment that's become important to characters and even plots. this makes the unusable usable, and one can tweak bits of it if they prefer but makes sense the way it is as well.

Similar to the Pathfinder version of broken, which works well.

The system was broken before this condition. Simple and easy fix for a not working part of d&d
