Ectoplasmic Strangulation

The wizard fought her hardest, but a pair of ghostly hands wrapped around her neck while another hand held her ankle in place. She could not move, or fight.

This spell creates a constant stream of ghostly arms, hands, tentacles or other appendages out of unstable ectoplasm which surround, strangle, strike and otherwise interfere with the target. It relentlessly pursues one creature within range, although the caster may switch which creature is the target each time she concentrates on it.

At the start of it turn, the target may make a Grapple check as a free action against DC 10 + your caster level + caster's spellcasting ability modifier to wrest free from the various appendages, if it fail it become Immobilized and unable to use any somatic and vocal components for 1 round. Since the appendages are made of ectoplasm, they are able to grapple an incorporeal opponent.

Whether the grapple attempt is successful or not, the target take non-lethal magical Swarm attack damage calculated using your caster level instead of the swarm's HDs, this damage cannot bring a creature below 1 hit point. An undead creature takes lethal damage from the strangulation effect of this spell.

While it is not a creature, the swarm moves with the target and can be attacked. It possesses an AC of 15, and 3 hit points per caster level and counts as an incorporeal swarm for the purpose of damaging it. If it is destroyed, it re-appeared at the start of the caster's turn.

If the spell is dismissed or dispelled before the caster cease concentration, the appendages explode into ectoplasmic slime which deal 1 damage per caster level in a 5-ft radius burst and cause a Fortitude save on all affected creatures against being sickened for a minute.

Material Component: A jar full of ectoplasmic slime.
