Hellcat (Devil)[edit]

Great beasts that hide in the daytime, hellcats are the stalkers of the Nine Hells and live in fairly lit areas-- giving them a tactical advantage against others they view as more than just playtoys. Hellcats are relatively intelligent and can be tamed as hunters and sometimes as mounts to other higher-ranking devils.

Aura of Concealment aura personal; The hellcat is invisible in normal lighting, granting it total concealment. Areas of low-light and darkvision partially conceal the hellcat; therefore, it only gains concealment. Areas of magical darkness smother the hellcat’s aura-- making its form visible.

The hellcat teleports 6 squares. At the end of its movement, all adjacent enemies take 1d10 Fire damage.

The hellcat deals an additional 1d8 damage with melee attacks upon any target it has combat advantage against.

Hellcat Tactics[edit]

Using nature checks, the hellcat can determine where to go to best utilize its aura of concealment. When it gets into a favorable spot to strike, it with use double attack against the weakest opponent and bite to restrain the target within its grasp. upon further commands, it may drag the restrained opponent to wherever it is told to go, or may further damage the target to the point of no return.


Hellcat Lore[edit]

A character knows the following information with a successful Religion check.

DC 15: Among the most ferocious beasts in the Nine Hells, Hellcats are a challenge to most creatures that visit. They live where light is most prominent, for it hides their true bodies and are sometimes the most fierce when they are fought in such prides. Their overall form resembles that of a lion with insubstantial fur-- almost making it invisible in broad daylight. In areas of darkness, the hellcat's outline is visible to all who can see.
DC 20: Hellcats may travel in small prides-- like a normal lion. They can also serve greater devils and even ride a few into battle, given the right circumstances. Hellcats are fairly intelligent and can speak to other creatures by its telepathic properties.

Encounter Groups[edit]

Hellcats may travel as solitary groups of two or three, but may also carry other devils into battle. Sometimes, a few hellcats may be controlled by a single powerful entity, such as a Pit Fiend or War Devil.
