Lillend Covey[edit]
Lillend coveys aren't easy to find. They gather in remote planes or far off isolated lands to practice their skills. They can be found traveling and gathering songs, and tracking them down through these rumors is usually how potentially students locate them. With their blessings and trainings, lillend coveys can grant a student greater control over their voice and how they convey words, meaning, intent, tone and emotion.
A student can gain one of the following benefits after completing training.
Single Skill: The student gains a +2 circumstance bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy or a vocal Perform skills (such as comedy, oratory or singing) as if by using a masterwork tool.
Five Skills: The student gains a +2 circumstance bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy and three vocal Perform skills (such as comedy, oratory or singing) as if by using a masterwork tool.
Prerequisite[edit]
To benefit from a lillend covey, a creature must be able and willing to communicate with the creatures serving as their teachers.
Tracking down a covey can be difficult and requires making 3 DC 20 Survival and either Diplomacy or Gather Information checks. Each check represents 2 days of effort, travel and information gathering, with a failed check gaining no progress in tracking down the covey.
Once the covey is located, the potential patron must prove themselves worthy of training, succeeding on a DC 20 Diplomacy or Perform skill, or failing so spectacularly that they take the patron on out of pity instead, so long as they get their payments for the trouble.
Location Activation[edit]
Upon paying for information during travel and paying for the lessons themselves, the training itself takes only a week for a single skill's benefit, or a month for all five skills.
Once a creature has benefitted from the training gained at a lillend covey, they cannot benefit from it again.
If a creature benefits from a number of the "single skill" versions and later tracks down the covey again, they can pay the remaining unpaid difference (up to 1,200 gp) to get the full five skill benefit.
