Links of Service
Magic Wondrous Item, (Paired crown and collar), common (requires attunement)
This magic item is actually a linked pair - A crown, tiara or diadem, and a collar or necklace, both of which magically change shape and size to fit the attuned users. Both items must be attuned to by a different creature in order to function. This item was invented by a blind wizard; She wore the diadem, and granted the collar to her cat familiar, allowing her to use the senses of her "service cat" while the little creature followed at her heels or was carried in her arms. Both items change in size and shape in order to perfectly accommodate the bodies of the two creatures attuned to them, and are so comfortable to wear that it is easy to forget they're there.
While a pair of creatures is attuned to this item and within 5ft of each other, each of the attuned creature may choose, at the beginning of their turn each round, whether to use their own senses, or to use the senses of the other attuned creature - Including vision, hearing, taste, touch and smell. This also extends to special senses, such as darkvision, blindsight, and tremorsense.
Additionally, while two creatures are attuned to these items, both creatures use the higher of their Perception and Investigation bonuses - Should a master have a +6 in Perception and their owl familiar have a +3 in Perception, while both creatures remain attuned to the items, both would use the +6 bonus to the skill.
