This spell summons the Engineer of Ruin to help you erase your enemies from existence. The Engineer of Ruin can use all of its abilities except for its spawn summoning. The initial effect of its Aura of Lethe is nonfunctional unless a creature exits the radius and then re-enters or enters the radius after the spell is cast; however, any creature that dies within the Aura of Lethe radius (including you and your allies) is forgotten by the universe in 1d4 rounds, making it impossible to revive, and can only be remembered if the Engineer of Ruin is unsummoned through being "killed" (which basically means reducing it to 0 hit points). A creature that has yet to be erased when this spell expires is spared from the Aura of Lethe's erasure effect. A creature that has already been erased when this spell expires can never be remembered. If the Engineer of Ruin is "killed", victims of its Aura of Lethe can be remembered but not resurrected, as normal.
Because the Engineer of Ruin is an abomination, and therefore immune to divine spells, this spell is only functional if cast as an arcane spell. Even if you're an arcane spellcaster, you must succeed on a caster level check against the Engineer of Ruin's spell resistance and it must fail on a Will saving throw in order to be summoned. Its spell resistance is 37 and it has a +21 bonus on Will saving throws.
The Engineer of Ruin is a unique creature. This spell enables you to control it (which is part of the reason for its extreme XP cost), but if it is "killed" while summoned, it needs 24 hours to reform like any other summoned creature. During this 24-hour interval, any further castings of this spell (by you or by anyone else) automatically fail, as the Engineer of Ruin is in no condition to be summoned and it is the explicit target of this spell. Likewise, if the Engineer of Ruin is actually dead, this spell is completely useless. (The Engineer of Ruin, due to its nature as an elder evil, will respawn eventually, but it will likely take an extremely long time, and you'll only live to see that day if you're a lich, dragon, god, or other ridiculously long-lived creature.)
XP Cost: 12,000 XP.
