Mantle of the Preserver[edit]

Taking on a fragment of the power of a god of preservation and protection, you gain the ability to maintain the status quo and repair what has been damaged.

Creating a Mantle of the Preserver[edit]

Mantle of the Preserver is an inherited template, a result of taking on a fragment of the power of gods of protection.

Size and Type[edit]

The creature’s type changes to Outsider with the Native subtype. Do not recalculate the creature’s Hit Dice, base attack bonus, or saves. Size is unchanged.

Special Attacks[edit]

Light of Protection (Sp): A creature with this template can duplicate the effects of a lyre of building's ability to protect fortifications and structures from damage. No performance check is required, and the ability lasts for 1 hour instead of 30 minutes. When warded, the entire area is lit up with protective runes whenever struck

While the effect is running, the immunity to damage also extends to objects in the area for the duration, such as a wielded sword, as long as it remains in the area of effect. Magical items are protected from dispel attempts, and it treats magic items as artifacts for the purpose of mage's disjunction.

Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): A creature with this template gains the following spell-like abilities depending on its Hit Dice, as indicated on the table below. The abilities are cumulative. Caster level equals a creature's character level, and the save DC is based on their highest mental ability modifier. Unlike most spell-like abilities, you must still pay any expensive material components or XP costs.

Special Qualities[edit]

A creature with this template has all the special qualities of the base creature, plus the following special qualities.

Damage Reduction 5/- (if HD 10 or less) or 10/- (if HD 11 or more)

Darkvision 60 ft (Ex)

Immunities: Death effects, Disease, Petrification, and Polymorphing.

Resistances (Ex): Acid 10, Cold 10, Electricity 10, Fire 10, Sonic 10

Spell Resistance: Equal to 10 + the creature's HD.

Abilities[edit]

Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +4, Dex +4, Con +4, Int +4, Wis +4, Cha +4.
