On a critical hit with a Medusa weapon, you can choose to forgo critical damage and deal normal damage but also petrify the opponent for a number of rounds equal to its critical multiplier -1 (so a 19-20/x2 weapon petrifies for 1 round, and a scythe 20/x4 for 3 rounds).
You can also take a standard action to generate a cone of petrification in a 15 ft cone as a supernatural ability. It is a Fortitude save, DC 10 + 1/2 HD + your highest mental ability modifier and petrifies targets for 5 rounds on a failed save. This has a cooldown of 5 rounds when used, but may otherwise be used at will. On a successful save, the creature's speeds are halved for 1 round unless they are immune to petrification.
If you bring a creature to 0 hp or less, you can choose to petrify them instead of killing them (leaving them at 1 hp). You can also unpetrify creatures with your weapon at will as a 1 round action.
