A slightly less absolute counterpart to psionic dominate, mind control makes creatures affected by it extremely susceptible to your will. The target of this spell may not take any hostile actions toward you or your allies and you may have anything you say to it treated as a suggestion to which no saving throw is granted (suicidal order are still out of the question). Once the duration of the power end, the creature is freed from any order the manifester gave.
A perk this power has over psionic dominate is that on a failed save, the creature is not necessarily aware it is being controlled, although it may soon realize it based on how you control the creature. Additionally, the sense motive check to discern if the affected creature is under a [Mind-Affecting] effect is the same as more conventional mind control effects (DC 25).
On a successful save, the creature takes a −2 penalty on Will saves against [Mind-Affecting] powers for 3 rounds, but the power is otherwise negated.
Augment: You can augment this power in one or more of the following ways.
1. If you spend 2 additional power points, this power can also affect an animal, fey, giant, magical beast, or monstrous humanoid.
2. If you spend 4 additional power points, this power can also affect an aberration, dragon, elemental, or outsider in addition to the creature types mentioned above.
3. For every 2 additional power points you spend, this power can affect an additional target. Any additional target cannot be more than 15 feet from another target of the power.
4. If you spend 2 additional power point, this power’s duration is 1 hour rather than concentration. If you spend 4 additional power points, this power’s duration is 1 day rather than concentration. If you spend 8 additional power points, this power’s duration is 1 day per manifester level rather than concentration. If you spend 10 additional power points, this power’s duration is permanent.
5. If you spend 2 additional power point, this power becomes Insidious Mind Control. In which you may give the creature insidious suggestion instead of suggestion.
6. If you spend 4 additional power point you may have the target forget its experiences while under mind control, as per modify memory (except it spans the entire mind control).
In addition, for every 2 additional power points you spend to achieve any of these effects, this power’s save DC increases by 1.
