Minimum Skill Points[edit]

Characters need skills so that they can perform their class role and players need their characters to have skills so they can actively participate in what's going on and make opposed checks and whatnot.

Presented below are some rules. Use some or all of them at your choice for you game.

The Rules[edit]

  • Player characters get a minimum of 4 + Int modifier in skill points per HD. You can extend this to NPCs and monsters if you want.
  • For every additional 3 skills added to your game (via homebrew skills or skills added from splatbook sources), characters gain an additional skill point per level.
  • All "usable untrained" skills are class skills for everyone all the time for all levels. Everyone can do what everyone should be capable of doing to participate.
