Standing before you is a group of soldiers, armed with foreign-looking sword, wearing black banded mail and face-concealing helmets.
The Band of the Scorpion are a band of mercenary, led and founded by the tiefling Illumini Anghelescu. The members of the bands are selected for their skills, demeanor and discipline. Those who find themselves worthy of the band are then given standarized equipment and made into Armsman, unless they were somehow uniquely skilled and already armed. They are versatile troops, with some ranged capacity and are usually deployed in moderate number. They excel at flanking and working with each others.
The statistic above include things such as Armor Check penalty, feat bonuses and whatnot.
Combat[edit]
The Band usually recruit human and half-orcs for their Armsmen, both receiving slightly different training and equipment but otherwise treated as equals. The humans, lacking a bit in strength are made to train at being better flanker and more vicious opportunists. The Half-Orcs are given intense physical training and heavy crushing weapons. In any case, the Sccorpion Arsmen will start a combat by raining a few bolts on the enemies if the range allows it, then they will use their heavy shield and weapon to make short work of the survivors.
Professionals (Ex): Due to rigorous military training, Scorpion Armsmen's humanoid hit dice are d10s, grant good base attack bonus, good Fortitude save and 4 + INt skills per level. They possess the same class skill as a Fighter.
Re-Positioning (Ex): Once per encounter, a Scorpion Armsman can take a move action as an immediate action. The movement for this move action is cut in half. This is only usable during another Scorpion Armsman's turn.
Tactical Ingenuity (Ex): Scorpion Armsman add their Intelligence bonus on attack and damage roll (usually +1) when attacking flat-footed or flanked target.
