A shiny frog hops out of the pond. It's beautiful... so why does it fill you with so much rage?

Believed to be the result of fey meddling, this frog is shiny and iridescent. Instead of trying to blend in this shine is a warning, for creatures who come near it are afflicted by a madness to slaughter everyone except the frog. It is not uncommon for these frogs to be protected by "bodyguards". While not a particularly intelligent creature, they are savvy enough to use and abuse this natural ability of theirs.

They are the same size and dimensions as a normal frog. They understand Sylvan poorly, and cannot speak.

Combat[edit]

Once a creature has been influenced by its aura, the frog tries to stay within 15 ft of them to retain their aura effect. It sometimes even stays within their square or on their victim. Once opponents realize the source of the madness, it is quick to Leap Away to safety.

Aura of Sparkling Fury (Su): Creatures within 15 ft of a shining furyfrog must make a Will save or fall under the effect of both confusion and rage (even though they are not willing). This lasts for as long as they remain within the aura and 1d4 rounds after leaving. They also get a new save every 24 hours. They replace any instances of "attack caster" with "attack nearest creature", and the frog itself is never considered the nearest creature. Those that succeed on the saving throw are instead dazzled for the duration. The saving throw is DC 13, and the saving throw is Charisma based.

Leap Away (Ex): The shining furyfrog may make a Jump check as part of movement. They do not provoke for movement for a number of feet equal to their Jump result (round down, minimum 0 ft).

Skills: A shining furyfrog gains a +8 racial bonus on Jump checks, and a -4 penalty on Hide checks due to its bright coloration. It also may use its Dexterity in place of Strength for Jump and Swim checks. A shining furyfrog has a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard. It can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. It can use the run action while swimming, provided it swims in a straight line
