Sourcelinked[edit]
Sourcelinked are creature who permanently made a bond between each others using inconceivable power. The Idylean concept of Source is often invoked as a possible origin for sourcelinked creature (which it is named after) but not the only one. A pair of sourcelinked share a very intimate link, they are able to feel each other's presence and even to feel through each's other sense. Sourcelinked creature are difficult to create, requring an ancient ritual and two compatible creature, once the bond is created it cannot be undone. The death of a sourcelinked creature result in the death of the pair.
Creating a Sourcelinked[edit]
Sourcelinked is an acquired template and an inherited template in the sense that only a few creatures have the potential of ever acquiring it. It is shared between a pair, two different creatures and both are forever linked together. Both creature receive all benefits of this template. For balance reason is i heavily suggested this template to be shared among two player characters.
Size and Type: Sourcelinked creature do not change type but they gain the psionic subtype.
Special Attacks: Sourcelinked creatures gain the following special attack:
Grant Action: A linked creature may sacrifice either a full-round or a standard action. If it sacrificed a full-round action it linked partner may take an additional standard action thus turn, if it sacrificed a standard action it may either take an extra move or swift action this round. This ability may only be used if both sourcelinked creature are within 30 feet of each other.
Pair Attack: Sourcelinked creature gain an extra +2 bonus to attack and +2d6 damage against a creature they both flank.
Special Quality: Sourcelinked creatures gain the following special qualities:
Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): As long as one linked creature is within line of sight to the other, both benefit from improved uncanny dodge as a barbarian of their level. If they gain uncanny dodge from a class, they can instead choose to get evasion.
Life Link (Ex): Through the source both linked creature share their life force. As a result, whenever a linked creature take enough that would kill her, the other can sacrifice any number of hit points. Each hit point sacrificed in this way prevents 1 point of damage done to the other linked creature. This can prevent the linked from being killed.
On the bad side, if one linked creature dies so does the other.
Resilient Soul (Ex): Whenever one of the linked creature is targeted by an effect that would cause instant death (such as [death] effect it has 50% chance of simply failing unless both are targeted, additionally both linked creature may roll against it. If one succeed they both count as having made their saving throw.
Source Link (Ex): Sourcelinked creatures possess the ability to perceive each other almost as well as they perceive themselves. You and the linked creature share a constant mindlink and is under effect of a constant status and mental watchguard (augmented to your character level) between the both of you. You can always instinctively find the other creature as if you used find the path.
Universal Sense (Su): As a move action you can extend your link to everything, gaining a powerful universal sense. The universal sense extend by 10 feet per character and allow you to pinpoint any creature as per touchsight, the linked creature also become aware of anything your universal sense picked up. Your universal sense only last for an instant, as a result creatures may use immediate movement to relocate and escape detection.
Their universal sense provide some foresight about the future, sourcelinked creature add their highest mental ability score modifier to reflex save and initiative.
