Last time i checked multiples do not get added in that way.
A times 2 plus a times 2 does not equal what you have. ex 10 x 2 = 20 x 2 = 40
rather multiples get added in this fashion
a times 2 plus another times 2 would be a times 3. ex 10 x 3 = 30
