*Increase the minimum amount for [[Dungeons and Dragons Wiki:Article Balance|higher balance ranges ]] of play.
*Grant free full ranks in a "flavor skill" which is intended for background/hobby use and is unlikely to come up in actual gameplay. Things like [[SRD:Appraise Skill|Appraise]] for most everyone, [[SRD:Craft Skill|Craft]] for mostly non-combat related things, [[SRD:Perform Skill|Perform]] for non-bards, and, of course, [[SRD:Profession Skill|Profession]], which was practically designed for this purpose.
*Free ranks in an essential class skill or skills. Let the [[SRD:Fighter|fighters]] [[SRD:Craft Skill|make their own gear]] or [[SRD:Barbarian|barbarians]] and [[SRD:Ranger|rangers]] [[SRD:Survival Skill|find their way in the woods]].
