The gift of innovation has brought much to magic, from unconventional spells to curious if useless magic items. The nightmare sculptors bring innovation to necromancy. Instead of simply raising the corpses dead, they sew many of them together to bring forth something closer to a flesh golem. These undead amalgamations are truly horrific to behold, being made of the undead grafts, oversized torso and oftentime an abundance of limbs. The undead amalgamations created by the nightmare sculptors have abilities that resemble those the component corpses could use in life, truly a blasphemous simulacrum of it former existence.

To create an undead amalgamation, a Nightmare Sculptor must spend 1 hour of work and 100 GP of reagents per hit dice she wishes her creation to have, afterward she must cast [[SRD:Animate Dead|animate dead]] with no further material cost. A Nightmare Sculptor cannot create an undead amalgamation with more hit dice than her character level. The Nightmare Sculptor must provide a number of hit dice worth of corpses that can be animated equal to the hit dice of the undead amalgamation she wishes to create. The corpses must be within one size category of the undead amalgamation she wishes to create (see below).

An undead amalgamation acts as a [[SRD:Astral Construct|astral construct]], to select an ability from any menu one of the component corpses must have possessed a similar ability. An undead amalgamation is of the undead type rather than being a construct. The level of the astral construct is determined by the number of hit dice it is given, an undead amalgamation with 10 HD would be a 6th level astral construct. An undead amalgamation cannot be given a different amount of hit dice than any listed [[SRD:Astral Construct|astral construct]]. Unlike an astral construct, an undead amalgamation is an instantaneous creation. They count against the normal hit dice limit of controlled undead as normal.
