Is this even supposed to be fire damage? It doesn't have a type listed. Anyway, 3,000 gp is really cheap for what this grants, and it grants a lot. As mentioned previously, you can't turn it off it looks like, so while fine for a bad guy, your party stays away from you as you sorta entropy creatures near you I guess?

Five years later and this is still awful. Non-dispellable or suppressible permanent cold resistance plus free damage all for less than a +2 cloak of resistance. Oh and it doesn't even take up a body slot (which by RAW grafts don't but I guess LD demonic grafts do, just not this one.)

Just no. "But magic items in D&D are priced badly!" So is this one.

I don't like the "slotted" nature of MS's previous grafts (maybe make a certain number of "graft" slots?), but this is just a straight power up with no downsides as written- unless you can't turn it off and automatically incinerate everything within reach (the rules say nothing about this).

My opinions of this haven't changed and, perhaps, have only soured over time. This remains a pile of powerful abilities without slot, and all for the price of an adamantine. Absurd.

Too cheap

Like the Babau Skin, you're getting several good benefits for an absurdly low price, a price you might see for gaining ONE of the benefits, if that. Compare it to the cost of various items which do the same thing and see how much cheaper this is. No evil character in his right mind would get items, they'd just enjoy slotless grafts. -- Eiji-kun 17:29, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

This is an item balanced for a 7th level character. All of the above is completely in-line with what a 7th level character, given the wizard level of balance, can do. The price given for it is a reasonable fraction of the total wealth by level for a 7th level character (16%, to be exact), and if we examine it in terms of wealth growth between 6th level and 7th level, it's about 50% of that. Combined with the fact that items in general are priced in a retarded fashion, and that this item benefits non-magic guys more than magic ones, your objections seem strange in the extreme. - MisterSinister 05:24, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
