Balance[edit]
So you can animate that great wyrm you found dead? This is pretty wizard-level. --Ghostwheel 17:53, March 9, 2010 (UTC)
- It's got a fairly limited duration (at least until the cap), eats up PP you could be spending on powers, and it's not clear that you get anything but a thug out of the deal (can't tell if creatures retain all of their abilities, just their Ex ones, can cast spells, etc.). If all you get is a bruiser for a couple of minutes, it's like a very specific summon that lasts a bit longer than normal. I wouldn't call that wizard, but since I'm not sure that's what it is I would say that this needs a lot more clarification as to what abilities of the animated creature remain and what actions you have to spend directing your guys before a final call is made. - TarkisFlux 18:11, March 9, 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, but right now they get all abilities and there are no restriction apart from the expenditure of PP. Carry around the corpse of an ultra-powerful wizard, and you're far above rogue level. A way to balance it out would be to limit the HD of creatures you can control by your class level. --Ghostwheel 19:17, March 9, 2010 (UTC)
- "The cerebral animator cannot animate any creature which has HD greater than their own"- this is said at the end of Animate the Mind.--Stryker-Fyre 07:03, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Some notes about which abilities you have access to in your animated friends would be nice. - TarkisFlux 07:09, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Done. --Stryker-Fyre 07:31, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Getting full ML on top of a wizard-level class (psion) and getting class abilities that are better than 2 psionic feats would make this a wizard-level class. --Ghostwheel 22:09, May 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Thought it might, was just waiting for other peoples opinions. --Stryker-Fyre 10:47, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
