Why Incomplete?[edit]

Why is this page still incomplete, when ts clearly done? --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 21:05, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

Take a look at the epic progression, it's still incomplete. --Ghostwheel (talk) 10:52, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
Wouldn't be better to suggest the creator to just put on hold that section, hiding it from view, than put a template that will delete an otherwise fine page? Isn't it a bit...radical? I've my fair share of unfinished pages, but I'd like to preserve them frome deletion just because they lack flavor text or the epic progression. Yes this class is from February of 2020 but many incomplete pages are on this site from far longer and have no impending deletion (rightly so). --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 14:17, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
That's certainly a possibility and their decision to make. And I think labeling something as "radical" is extremely far-fetched. Check how long the template has been up, and no one's deleted the page.
That said, if you do find a page that is incomplete, feel free to slap the incomplete template on it. There's a high likelihood that it won't be deleted (and if it is, you can always request an admin to restore the page), but it's good to keep track of them. --Ghostwheel (talk) 21:00, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Yeah I checked the page's history and saw that the template was added in February as well, so there shouldn't be to fear any sudden deletion, obviously. However I have noticed something more worrying: the template was added exactly 8 minutes after the page's creation. That could be interpreted in two ways: either on this site there cannot be any incomplete pages, not even when very early in development (and I enphasize very early), so much that incompleteness is very frowned upon (and the ominous sounding Incomplete Template does hint to this, with its 3-days-warning time limit) up to the point of no tolerance, or using this template is meaningless, given that it doesn't keep up with its warnings, and especially because it doesn't take into account any reasonable time during which a page may remain incomplete, as the creator may don't have the material time to work on it, doesn't have completed its thought process on the class or just isn't so much inclined to dedicate a lot of its time to the completion of the page.
So, in my opinion, this is a radical take on the subject of page incompleteness, as I think that adding the template so early in this page's life was too much, especially considering that there are more casual users, that don't spend so much time on each of their project up to the point of having to create them immediately completed or don't do it altogether. I'm aware that this is not the case, for the site, and so I'd argue that the Incomplete Template doesn't have anything to do here as the page is, for the most part, done, even just because it's not anymore general incompleteness, but just incompleteness of the epic progression section.
I fully understand the need and the benefits of precision and completeness, and I'm all for removing or putting a warning for pages that are abandoned or almost abandoned, but even the means to reach this end must be temperate.
Just to make sure I've not annoyed you: I'm saying all this without any spite against you, so please don't take it badly, I really don't want to anger you, as it wouldn't be justified in any way for me. --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 21:49, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
