| Well, this is actually tool. I'm a fan of turning tools into weapons (hello crowbar!) and this one does it with some style. Exotic weapons need something special, and this one does it by being a battlefield controller for the melee inclined. The only thing lacking is that it should have a +2 bonus to trip/disarm/etc. It seems implied.
But the thing that makes this from Like to love? Use Rope as BAB? Why that's just peachy! I like that idea, and by using RANKS it avoids the problem of boosting your skill to get a massive to-hit.

| I was with you until the Use Rope thing. No. Just no. I mean, really? Come on, man. In any normal game, I'd allow using a grappling hook as an improvised weapon. You drew up stats, which would have been fine, if you did it right.
