It's a bit overtuned for an LA 0 race. |

Feels like LA +1. No reason not to take this as a rogue type, and it even gets CR for free to set up for Vexing Flanker. |

Hmmm.
I don't know what to think about this race. It's that +4 Dex you see. +4 for LA 0 is possible, but it often comes with severe issues elsewhere, and a certain lacking. But, with a bonus feat and high speed, it feels wrong at LA 0. It also feels a bit weak at LA 1, but if I were to err, I may err on LA 1. |
Hardly LA1, the hit to wisdom and intelligence is a major downside and pretty much makes this class terrible for spellcasting, and having either as a dump stat greatly reduces out-of-battle efficiency. As melee combatants they're very, very good, but as anything else they're pretty horrid. LenKagetsu (talk) 09:44, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'd debate that. Yeah, they're not good wizards or clerics (but fine sorcerers). And halflings aren't known as barbarians, and dwarves are terrible sorcerers. That's not really the issue at hand. The race is clearly favored towards Dex heavy use, such as rogues, and a +4 is a greater benefit that two -2s due to how these things scale in value. With that said it's not unheard of for a +4, like the Orc. But the Orc is saddled with crippled mental scores in excess to this, light issues, and not much else. Yet orc is still chosen as a go-to melee race (well, Water Orcs, but that's neither here nor there) because that +4 is that sweet.
- Basically I'm mostly concerned with it's presence with a healthy speed and a bonus feat. All together is a bit much. It's currently occupying that difficult gray zone between LA 0 and LA 1. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 10:43, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- That seems fine, you could alternatively just say they come pre-packaged with the Glass Jaw flaw, which effectively accounts for the bonus feat. And maybe a small penalty elsewhere for the +10 spd, nothing too big but flavorful. Not sure what. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 19:26, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- I think something like -2 Con would work better. The problem with crit-increases is that it makes random death, especially at low levels, much more punishing and does not really contribute towards player enjoyment. --Ghostwheel (talk) 11:40, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
