It's what a Swift Hunter should be normally, with a slight power boost that places it firmly in High balance and proves interesting. The Unflappable thing is a little odd, but the bookkeeping of switching from Wis to Con briefly is not too bad. Good job.

Looks reasonably enjoyable and some of the abilities are clever. I particularly enjoyed Unflappable.

This feels like what the scout should have been all along, with the bonus of letting someone play a ranger without magic or a companion without having to go diving for alternate class features.

I really like where you seem to be headed with this so far. It looks like its gonna be an interesting blend of Scout and Ranger. Im not sure what the report ability is going to be, but just looking at the chart with no ability descriptions to go on yet, I do have to ask, is it intended to go from only 1/day to at will in not only 5 levels with no other progression inbetween, but 5 low levels at that? Just curious. The-Marksman (talk) 00:30, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Marksman. See what you think now that you can read what the ability is. In my mind, it's a pretty weak ability, so a long progression isn't necessary.Somehownotsingle (talk) 00:35, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

I made a small change to Unflappable in light of Eiji-Kun's observation. I also wanted it to have little more benefit.Somehownotsingle (talk) 18:22, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

THOUGHTS?[edit]

I tried to give this some of the better abilities of the Ranger and Scout, while adding a few new powers for measure. I also decided to take away any restrictions on the bonus feats the Swift hunter can choose from.

The swift travel ability (obviously patterned on the barbarian rage ability) is to allow the swift hunter to skirmish as a full round action without having to dip or take Travel Devotion.

I'm really torn about the full skirmish damage progression, as opposed to half like the scout class has. I just feel like Skirmish is underpowered; I mean, the rogue gets full progression sneak attack, right? Still, I don't want to make it overpowered, hence the moderate BAB progression. Should I do something less powerful, like full BAB with the scout's normal half progression?Somehownotsingle (talk) 00:40, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Actually, a lot of SRD content could be concidered weak by the standards some of the guys set on here. Its all about your intended balance point imho. I actually like that you upgraded the damage, but I like your version with average BAB over the idea of full BAB with half progression. Now that I've read the abilities the short progression doesnt seem as strange. The-Marksman (talk) 02:00, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Okay, thanks!Somehownotsingle (talk) 01:22, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

FOR THE ADMINS ...[edit]

The random IP address that made massive changes to the class was actually me (the creator). I just didn't notice that I was logged out.Somehownotsingle (talk) 01:11, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Noted. Also, at some point, we're gonna have to move the article so it has a proper namespace. That is, so it reads "Swift Hunter (3.5e Class)". I don't want to try and move it while you're in the middle of making some edits. --Ganteka Future (talk) 02:12, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I noticed that it was lacking the 3.5e class tag, too. I must have accidentally erased some code or something when editing. Sorry about that. I'm done editing (at least for a while), so feel free to move it whenever.Somehownotsingle (talk) 02:17, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

If Anyone Plays This ...[edit]

If anyone uses this class, I would love some feedback on how this class plays out in a High level game. I'm flirting with some ways to give the class a little more oomph, but I'm holding off for now. However, if it's under-powered (or just not fun) at a High level, I'll add some more stuff.Somehownotsingle (talk) 21:30, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
