Different Cite Template

Can I turn this into a useful page that links to the proper publication page? I can find a list of acronyms for the books out there. And if I can, how should I say that 3.5e books are different than 4e books? Right now I'm thinking just using a '3' or '4' at the end of the title, and making the number optional for third edition books. So PHBII3 and PHBII would link to the 3.5e players hand book II while PHBII4 would link to the fourth edition version. Please? The basic template is as shown below:

Which brings up a question. How in the titles, are we doing edition war disambiguations?
