Adds nothing to the game. There are simple weapons are are strictly superior.

This is stupid in all the ways the Grand Piano isn't.

Not-worth exotic weapon is not-worth it. Well, this is in line with WotC's habit of making the orientals exotic without giving it the mechanical right to be so. No longer exotic, now just a crappy martial. It's got nothing to its name. Fluff is weird, since it does nothing to helmets. Also seems like it would be monk-compatible at least. Doesn't get a hate due to at least being cheap.

So... an expensive metal club with pointless flavor text? Whatever. What really gets me is that this is nothing like what a real jitte is.

The hardness is arbitrarily different, and given that "The jitte is a small steel bar used to catch helmets in its one prong and crack them open," it's too bad it can't interact with helmets in any special way whatsoever.

Hard

Is there a reason why the hardness of steel for this item is greater than normal steel or were the numbers likely just pulled from the air? For reference see: SRD:Breaking and Entering#Breaking Items --Ganteka Future 01:42, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

Indeed, the weapon is exceptionally hard and high HP for its material and size. I'd even go as far as to say that the damage might be seen as rather high for a one pound stick of unsharpened metal no longer than a foot. Moreover, I never heard of jitte's being used to crack open helmets and, truth be told, I don't really see its usefulness (you could build something around that, but the mechanics are non-existent right now, and I don't think it is any realistic, even vaguely). I DID hear about them being used to disarm opponents, though, a lot, much like the sai (although most, but not all, only have one prong instead of two). Yet, I see nothing to suggest it here... -HarrowedMind 15:24, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
