Homebrew Monsters[edit]
Why, in the name of all that is holy, are you making 3.0 monsters and not 3.5? We don't even have a section for 3.0 material. --Ghostwheel 07:16, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not. The book I am taking them from was a third-party book meant for 3.0 when 3.5 did not exist then. That is why. And no, obviously therefore I did not create them and I do not yet know how to update them for use with 3.5. That is why. I was being honest about it. Should I just change it to 3.5 when it was never meant for that? - ProphetPX 07:35, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Did you get that permission thing you were wondering about? And if so, it should probably be added to the Open Game Content section. --Foxwarrior 07:38, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- No, because other sites had copied content from this book already and frankly this site does not seem to specify how one goes about "proving" that one has permission from an author or publisher that they are allowed to use their content. What am I really expected to do? Scan a hand-written letter in and upload it to the site? Anyone can type anything and say "See? I have permission". So no, I never bothered. I admit the monster I submitted is not my creation. But I DO wish to use it for my world and if your site is bothered by that then by all means someone can delete the whole thing and maybe I just won't use this site. Cf: for proof of what I say, see this site: [1] --ProphetPX 07:44, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

- Did they get permission, implicit or explicit? What parts of the Artathi are you changing for your setting? If nothing, it would be efficient to just link to it. If everything but the stats, more interesting racial powers for catgirls can be made anyways. And I don't think we care much about "proving" that one has permission, but it would be good if you honestly said you had it. --Foxwarrior 07:57, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well I am being honest but if i was any other way I could just say "yeah I don't need permission because this is all my own." But I'm not, because it's not. And I do not know if THEY got permission or not. I am not even a member on that other site nor do i have any contact with that webmaster, NOR do i feel that the book publisher I got the material from even cares any longer for this particular product line since none of these books are any longer sold anywhere except as used on Amazon.com where I DID BUY my own hard copy of the book. --ProphetPX 08:02, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- PS: I HATE and resent the "cat girl" reference. That is not what my world is about. Obviously both sexes are going to be present - this is not a porn world... sigh --ProphetPX 08:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Then you'll either have to find if it says "Open Game License" in the book somewhere, actually talk to the publisher/author, make your own thing, get someone else to make a thing for you, or skulk away to some place where they don't give advice.
- PS: It's fun to tease you about furries because you react so energetically to it. --Foxwarrior 08:15, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- I deleted the page for now, but I can restore it if you can find an Open Game License for the content. --Aarnott 14:20, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- HERE is your proof of the Open Gaming License for the content I had posted yesterday. I am not aware of how this "open gaming license" stuff works but MYTHIC RACES (the book where I got the Artathi from) IS AN OPEN GAMING LICENSE WORK. See the 2nd to last page for a sample of this book and it's LICENSE terms (the page before this DOES list the Artathi) [2] NOTE this is a book meant for 3.0 and I have no idea how to convert it to 3.5e. --ProphetPX 23:16, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Rating Articles[edit]
You've been looking at a lot of articles lately for use in your campaign setting, and hopefully some of those have stood out as particularly awesome. Not sure if you wanted to rate any of them while you were at it, but here's the page to learn how to do that if you were interested. Let me know if that page could be more clear, and I'll work something up.
And since we're also considering a minor change in rating structure, feel free to add you 2cp to that discussion on the talk page if you like. - Tarkisflux Talk 03:46, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, you are right. I have. :) And I actually would have rated a lot of the articles I have been looking at but frankly a CRAZY AMOUNT of articles on this site (and others) are mostly HORRIBLY incomplete, and I was hoping someone would (resume) work on them (the creator or original contributor) because I am mostly just info-gathering right now and I feel rather "out of place" in rating things that are incomplete since my own stuff here is extremely incomplete... I have rated articles on other sites before but I have also been very busy in real life so I will try to rate some articles as I come across them from now on. Thanks. --ProphetPX 07:40, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- We differentiate between mechanically incomplete stuff that is basically unplayable, and fluff incomplete stuff that you could play but might not have a full writeup. If you're seeing mechanically incomplete stuff, we appreciate very much if you let us know by putting the {{incomplete}} template at the top of the page, above the author template. If you're seeing fluff incomplete stuff that you'd like to see more work done on, leaving a message on the talk page to encourage / remind the author to finish it might be a good idea. - Tarkisflux Talk 16:05, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- All this wiki code stuff is still very new to me and i am barely learning any of it. Do i just insert the " {{incomplete}} " at the top of every article i write, UNTIL i know it is fully fleshed out, or what? sorry i am very ignorant and a total newb at this. i can barely fill out my own articles, let alone understand what you are trying to say. Thanks. - --ProphetPX (talk) 20:14, 25 February 2017 (MST)
Curios Question[edit]
What are your thoughts on the Judge of Existence? --Franken Kesey 19:15, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hi! I am sorry i did not get your message until just 5 years later lol It's now 2017 :) I read the whole thing over and it is a very solid and well-put together class, and very complete. Neat you wanted my input too. I liked it. Gave it a Like rating (i am not an expert so i figured i did not want to rate it higher because i am not good at rating such things) but i did like it. Very complete article! - --ProphetPX (talk) 20:12, 25 February 2017 (MST)
